Hello, my name is IWAKONBU, and I’m an artist based in Japan. I create AI-assisted concept art that explores an original, otherworldly universe of my own design — a world where multiple cultures, people, and histories coexist and intertwine. My goal is to express not just a single scene, but the feeling of a living world. I originally painted backgrounds by hand, but when I discovered the creative potential of AI, I decided to embrace it as a new artistic tool. In the past, I used DALL·E 3 (ChatGPT-4o), and with recent updates I now work mainly with GPT-5. Each image is the result of many experiments in lighting, atmosphere, and storytelling. I’m still exploring and refining my process, but my dream is to expand into a wide range of visual expressions — from intricate, realistic landscapes to painterly and abstract pieces that evoke emotion rather than describe it.
